Truer Words

October 4, 2011 at 5:56 am (Positive Discipline)

Elia was reading a book about sharks, and after she read a section about shark attacks, she informed me, “Mom, it says that if you ever get attacked by a shark, you should either poke it in the eyes or punch it on the nose as hard as you can.  Then it might leave you alone. But I wouldn’t do that.  I wouldn’t want to hurt it. You know, sharks aren’t bad…..they just make mistakes sometimes.”

Oh, my!  When it comes to understanding others, truer and more important words have never been spoken.  She’s going to make a compassionate mother one day.
